Onward ticket USA
We are about to fly our bikes to the USA.
Regarding our entering the US they are asking us to have proof of onward travel. We are reluctent to buy tickets for the journey home so soon.....but still need proof that we are leaving USA in 3 months time.. We have tried the US embassy in Sydney and they are unhelpful to say the least and wont tell us what "proof" other than tickets they may accept!!! Any help will be much appreciated - Thanks |
Same deal for NZ, you must show proof you are leaving.

Since a return ticket is usually cheaper than a one-way ticket there shouldn't be a problem.

The requirements on the USA embassy (London) website say that UK citizens must have a return or onward ticket from the USA to qualify for visa waiver programme (90 days). Without these you need to apply for a US visa and if you have this, then no onward or return ticket is necessary.
We got the visas to avoid problems as the USA is getting more and more particular about immigration. [This message has been edited by GlobeBusters (edited 29 January 2005).] |
