Paperwork for bike
I am going overland from UK to OZ. Other than the items listed below is there any other paperwork I will need for the bike:-
Carnet Registration document Insurance document Driving licence International driving permit Your responses are greatly appreciated |
Nothing else needed for the bike. You need a passport, and of course colour photocopies of everything, and while you're at it scan it all and put it online in your mail system, so you can download and print it if needed.

Dear Simon,
You have all the documents you need to get you as far as the border of Singapore. They will not let you in unless you buy their insurance and their International Circulation Permit. But you can do that at the Singapore Automobile Association in downtown Singapore. You must leave the bike at the border, and take a taxi to the SAA downtown (expensive). You bring back the documents to the border post, and with your carnet you will get permission to enter the State of Singapore. Arrive at the border (Tuas) early, for the process will take several hours, and bring money, plenty of money. If you're a member of the British Automobile Association, the SAA will give you a discount. So bring your membership card. Do not chew gum; you will get flogged. Do not smoke pot; you will get executed. Enjoy!!! |
