Passport checking from Turkey to China.

Hello all,

I am riding overland from Europe to Malaysia, at least it is the plan. I am now in Turkey.
I have a problem with the passport, the passport is not expired and it's ok, but as I ordered a second one for the visa applications (China, Pakistan, India and Nepal), the first one (with visas for Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) is set as "lost"or "stolen" in the European and Interpol databases.

So, as far as they don't check the databases at the border, I should be fine, because the passport is ok
Do you know if in the borders of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were checking it or just looking at the passport and letting you go?

Thank you in advance.
Regards
Samuel

It once was lost and then it was found. Lucky you.

Many countries check that you are properly stamped out from the previous country so that could be a problem. Just need to keep the original one to prove that.

Each country should also double check for a valid entry stamp on exit so need to have a story for that too

Another might be if any country refuses to recognise a visa in a cancelled passport, so yet another reason for keeping the old one.

I think if they check if the passport is still active in the home country, it would be through an embassy when the visa would be granted. I would not expect this at all at borders. Because it means you should have quite an infrastructure, and connections with all the countries and their embassies to check this. Maybe a link with Interpol is easier, but you can expect this kind of stuff at airports I would think.

We had two active passports, and sometimes they would ask for the exit stamp, which was in the other passport. It can get some funny looks and explaining needed, but it was not a problem in the end. However, we really tried to minimize the times we needed to show both, because maybe not everybody will accept it.

You know you need to apply for Pakistan from home right?
Shipping passports isn't always easy, depending on which country you're in.
