registering a motorcycle in the EU (w/ more information)
 

I am an american citizen and with an american motorcycle drivers license. i want to go to the eu (probably germany), buy a motorcycle, travel around europe, russia and central asia, then ship it to hong kong, the motorcycle's final destination. can a non eu citizen register a motorcycle bought in the eu under a non eu drivers license? what must i do to get the bike properly registered before my trip? goulburn@aol.com

Last year I've asked this question to our (Netherlands) department of motorvehicles and to the postoffice.

They said it was no problem at all.
Just go with the bike-papers and your driverslicence to the postoffice and register. And you can drive away.

I'll ask again if your interrested.

In Germany you have to have a (living)adres in Germany.
