Registration vs Title
 
Dear All,

I would like some clarification. I am planning a trip from the US to Costa Rica. Are BOTH the Title and Registration required?

I am hoping that that Registration is suffucient since the title company is still holding title to the bike.

You will need at least a copy of the title to get Mexican documentation. That is to show that you own the bike. Since you do not have clear title you will need a signed statement from the lien holder that they approve the trip through Mexico. The other borders I don't know about.

Just looked it up, Importación Temporal de Vehículos and it appears mollydog is correct.

" Certificate of vehicle´s ownership, valid registration, or lease contract. " is needed. I do think you need a release from the lien holder, but take your chance.
