RUS Biz visa and 'Bank Statements'
Working on my Double Entry (!!) Russian Biz visa, got the LOI sorted but now looking about picking the visa up in the UK and come across this...
"Introductory letter from your company (or from yourself if you are self-employed) <which I am> giving full details of the traveler, destinations, terms and purpose of the visit. Self-employed and unemployed applicants must show copies of their bank statements for the last three months.... need to provide bank statements for the last three months which have a current balance of a minimum of £100 per day for the duration of the visit." £100 p/d i want a 3 month visa... really adds up... Has anybody experienced this? Found a way round etc... I suppose i could get a loan... but thats wasted money and time i don't really have... Cheers... |

That's what came out couple of months ago. You can get it that normally in two weeks. Price was 140€ via travel agency including every thing just mailed application, passport, and copy of you travel insurance. I found that out when working on my own visas to Central Asia. Rus visa is easiest one KAZ and UZB are tricky because every consulate gives you dissimilar answers. :smartass: |

Or get a buddy who has a company to write such a letter. Failing that just print a made up letterhead and write. No one checks it out - its just that they need to see it to be able to tick the box on their Visa Processing Form and pass the papers on to the next stage in their process! The next stage is only concerned the preceeding boxes were ticked. |

Yes, to what tobyb said. This is the first I've heard of anything other than a business or tourist visa for Russia. And the cheapest dual entry business visa seems to be over $400 CDN Thank you. :confused1: Quote:

It's all to do with recriprocal agreements - so put pressure on your own Government representative! Look at the Russian Embassy Website for the Country in which you wish to apply from for your Russian Visa. (Google "Russian Embassy CITY/COUNTRY" City/Country being where you will apply!) |

Think I'm going to 'borrow' some headed paper from work before I leave. Its looking like I will have to get the visa in London when i fly back for a week from Turkey (sisters wedding :innocent:). Annoyingly I have already booked flights so think I'm going to have to fork out for next day processing as otherwise it looks like 7 days :( 2 people, double entry business, next day processing... OOCH! If i could work out a way to post the passport back from Greece, have a mate drop them off, and then pick it up back in london that would be good! But as far as i know, you cant fly into the UK without a PPort... |

If you do that on nomansland.... OK they'll check you passport when you on next border... Haven't try yet but must do next summer. Those visa regulations are so ridiculous that should have second passport and do application on forehand and have somebody to handle things and have delivery to somewhere and hopefully save some weeks. Don't know yet if that cone work or not but looks like only possibility. Let's see what cone happend:cool4: |

2 passports
As todders says is a good idea and as long as you can explain to the passport office that you have a load of visas to get and still need to travel abroad while thats happening, its no problem
I happen to have 2 different passports and travel with both. I use whichever is more convenient for each particular country and every time i change passport I exit one country with one and a different one at the entry point to the next country. I have never had a problem. |
