Russian Customs Clearance in Zarubino
Sorry about the cross posting.
Has anybody taken the ferry from Korea (Sokcho) to Russia (Zarubino)? We are booked with two motorbikes for Thursday 25 May 2006 and I am wanting any information about customs clearance, what to do, where to go etc. I have read and keep a paper copy of the postings for the procedures for the Japan ferry in Vladivostok. Thanks in advance Brett |
My gut instinct says the procedures for clearing customs (as opposed to immigration) will be similar all over russia. It is good that you keep a copy of the Vladivostock "procedure". My advice would be to ensure that you have vehicle registration papers in your own name matching your passport. An IDP (which should have a russian page in it - mine did) of the correct convention (year). It would also be better if you can purchase your russian insurance for the bike before you leave Korea as the documents will be in russia and make life easier for the customs who won't understand a foreign registration document.
This is all I needed to get into russia - apart from waiting time! Rgds Les |
Brett, how'd it go?
We are in Korea trying to get our bikes released from Incheon. Info is that we must get Korean plates to ride bikes here. |
