Shipping bike in /out of South Africa/Kenya without a CDP possible?

It seems the countries I intend to visit do not require a Carnet, if entering by land.


(List: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, SA).


However, according to this site, a CDP is necessary for shipping to or from Kenya and South Africa: Carnet De Passage Information by Country - Overlanding Association


So has anyone been able, lately to ship a bike in or out one of those without one?
My intended route would ideally start in Kenya and ends in Cape Town. (we would have 4 or 5 months).


I could start in Tanzania (if no CDP is needed there when flying in the bikes), but the departure still remains a problem if I need a carnet in SA.


So has anyone been able, lately, to ship out of SA without a CDP?
