Shipping and riding my UK Buell in the USA

Hi. Does anyone have any experience in the requirements for shipping my UK Buell over to the US for a year or so? I am working out there on an assignment, and want to take my bike if possible. I can't seem to find any information on whether this is possible or not, what license/test I would need to take, any mods that might need to be made to the bike etc etc. Any help wourl be appreciated.

You can travel / pass through with your bike for a long period of time, but over a year MAY be a problem - depending on your visa/green card status etc.

IF you were travelling - NOTHING would be required to be done except you need insurance. That's it. However, you are not usually allowed over a year.

You AREN'T travelling, so all bets are off - BUT you're not permanently importing either, so it's hard to be sure where they'll draw the lines.

For this long period, you'll have to do some research. Note that it varies considerably from state to state.

For over 6 months resident in most countries, you usually need to get a local drivers licence, but unlikely to need to take any tests. Even if you had to take a drivers test, no worries, it's MUCH easier than the UK test!

Best of luck, and keep us posted!
