South Africa's Temp Import Permit & Selling Bike
gidday,
Im in South Africa at the moment and have my bike imported using a Temporarly Import Permit (TIP) rather than my Carnet de Passage. What im wondering about is if i can pull it off to sell the bike locally and discarding the TIP. Concern is the level of IT organisation within customs. I do believe that there is some sort of system that links TIPs against a persons passport and so major hassles flying out or even rejected from the flight. A solution would be to apply for a new passport but no time for that.. Is there anyone who attempted such a scheme before? I would be very interested in your experiences... Thanks Meindert |
As it happens flew out from Capetown without any hassles, not a question asked about the TIP.
