Sudanese VISA in Cairo ?
 

Hi,

Can anyone confirm whether it is still possible to obtain a VISA for Sudan in Cairo? :confused1: With the current dangers in Cairo I am thinking about applying for a Sudan VISA from London, but I understand from previous posts this takes a long time. Has anyone attempted to do this recently? What did you use for the invitation letter? :helpsmilie:

Hi Fred,

Not sure exactly what your plans are/where you're heading, but I applied for my visa in Cairo last November. It took 24 hours to get it processed and cost $100, but on top of that I also had to provide a letter of invitation from the British Embassy....who don't actually issue those letters but for $50 will issue you with a letter to explain that they don't issue LOIs....if you want to take this route, the British embassy can have this prepared for you within the hour.
Assuming you are heading south to Aswan, you'd be much better off applying for your visa there - I understand it can be processed in 24 hrs and costs only $50 plus no LOI required, so all in all a much cheaper, easier experience.
I haven't heard of anyone who bothered applying for the Sudanese visa in London but I also understand it takes an age.
