Temporary insurance in Canada (Halifax)

Wow it has been some time since I used the Hubb, but here I am in hour of need.
I just purchased a Mercedes Unimog truck in Germany for use as an expedition camper. It will be arriving in Halifax tomorrow (jan 16). I would like to drive it from Halifax to Quebec where I am currently living. The problem is that I am unable to find any company that will insure me for a period of 1-2 days so that I can drive it home.
The motorvehicle dept in Halifax won't issue me a temporary registration without proof of insurance. I am stuck. :helpsmilie:

It would be expensive but you could try progressive.com. You would have to use a US address and set up a monthly payment cycle that you could stop after the first month. Could be worth a try.
