Turkmenistan transit visa in London
Has anyone here applied for and received a Turkmenistan transit visa from the country's embassy in London?
I am aiming for a 5 day visa (as my previous two have been), and would not be happy if I got a three day one... how many days did you get?? Of course, I'd love the 7 day visa but I don't think that they are ever issued :( Were the entry and exit points marked on your visa? I am planning on transiting from Karabogaz to Gudurolom, but might write the longer Karabogaz - Saraghs if it gives me a better chance to get a longer visa. From what I've read, it's not a big deal to leave from a different border... Thanks Daniel |
I got mine in Mashad Iran, through Vali's Homestay (be warned he will spend forever trying to flog you carpets, otherwise an interesting chap).
The Turkmen embassy usually issue 5 day visa, sometimes 3 day if you are unlucky and 7 day if you are lucky. There is no rhyme or reason, it depends what mood they are in. |
Thanks Fern, but I am asking specifically about the London Embassy.
I have never met anyone who has had a 7 day transit visa. I don't think I have even heard of it. |
I think the reason I didn't get my turkmen one in LDN was that they wouldn't forward date it to the time I was going to enter.. the clock would tick once it was issued. I got Uzbek, Tajik and Kygz in London but not Turkmenistan... It seemed everyone on that route was picking it up in Iran or the country before.
