TVIP in mexico question
Hi, was wondering if anyone here had any up to date info on Mexico's TVIP policy.
We currently have two bikes in storage in Mexico City.We rode down and then flew home, then have been flying down, riding around then flying back home. The permits expire in April. Question is, can we cancel our permits(before they expire) then cross into Guatemala/Belize and come back in a week or two and start all over again with another 6 month permit in Mexico ?? Or is there a certain amount of time that has to elapse before obtaining a new permit on the same bike?? Thanks in advance, Bill |
Hi Bill, we spent 6 months in Mexico last year and then went to Belize for 6 weeks. We cancelled our TVIP the day we went to Belize and then just started the whole process again when we returned to Mexico. I am not aware of any minimum time limit between cancelling one and starting another TVIP.

I've heard of people crossing the border and returning the same day to renew their FMM and TVIP. More than a few Americans live in Mexico more or less permanently and do a border run every 6 months

Thanks for the replies (Tony LEE & Stevedo) It was what I was wanting to hear.
