UK insurance to south africa
 

right, i am doing a motorbike trip to SA from London in early 2009,
i will have 3 years on road experience, and 2 years no claims. i will be 19 when i go.

does anybody know what special insurance i need, and if there are any particularly good companies to go through-cheap in other words.

I'm probably going on a BMW F650 worth in the area of £2500-£3000.

any advice and i'll be grateful,

you can get theft insurance and medical insurance, but I don't know of any 3rd party liability insurance. you'll need a carnet for several countries and that means insurance or a hefty deposit - eg 8 times the value of your bike if you go to Egypt
