UK national buying in USA to tour.
 

I thought this would be simple but now I'm not so sure.

I've bought a used R100GS from a private seller in Michigan, USA with the intention of touring for two months before shipping her back to the UK.

Question is; As a British national, resident in the UK without a permanent address in Michigan can I register as the new owner of this motorcycle with the authorities and obtain licence plates on completion of the Transfer of Title formalities.

Hope sumwun has a definite answer as the bike has been bought, tickets purchased and I'm due to fly out in April when the weather improves.

Define "permanent address" ? I'd suggest you use an address where you could reasonably expect mail to get to you. At least for the first few weeks. Could be a hotel or a camping ground .. just don't put "Hotel Astro" ... use the street address "125 Elm Street" and they won't know.
