visa for iran / pakistan / india
leaving uk april but not actually hitting asia till august-
i was under the impression that it was best to apply for a visa now and then if it ran out it would be easier to obtain one at a border if you already had one - even if it has run out- is this still the case. please help regards andy laurence |
Hi,
Indian and Pakistan visas both valid for six months from issue. Both obtainable same day from your freindly neighbourhood consulate! As far as I can gather Iran visa is only valid three months from issue so I'm just going to try getting one in Turkey. With the situation as it is now who knows if anyone'll be able to get through! Curently in India at the moment.
Go to the pakistan embassy in UK and speak to the commissioner who will grant a 1 year visa. For India you can obtain visa in Islamabad, Pakistan and takes about 7 days. For Iran it is best to use an agency and then you can collect it in Istanbul. This will allow you maximum time in each country. Becky |
Hi Andy,
There have been some recent posts about the Iranian visa situation. Go here to see the thread. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000374.html and http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000744.html Daryn |
thanks for the advise guys
much appreciated regards andy laurence |
On a related topic, can any of you that have obtained an Iranian visa tell me its format?
I'm told I need two blank pages in my passport, do they need to be consecutive? When the visa comes back (but before you enter the country), is there something on both pages, or just one? Just that I only have two pages free, they are at either end of my passport, and I will be going somewhere else that may put a stamp in my passport between getting the Iranian visa and entering Iran... (Alas, this isn't a two wheeled trip, so it is a bit cheeky asking the question here.) Cheers for now, Rob |

hi Andy,
i drove last april from india to switzerland on an enfield. i got my iranian visa in switzerland, before leaving. i stayed longer than i thought in India and my visa was not valid anymore. i went to sri lanka for a month and got my new iranian visa there. the iranian ambassy still had to send my visa application to teheran to have a new one. so i guess there is no use to have one visa outdated. i assume you will just loose your money. good luck cheers |
