Is it necessary to have a Visa for Marli or is it possible to buy at the border?

I've no personal experience, yet. I'll let you know in February:thumbup1: I intend to get one at the border but I've also read a report from some French travellers who got one in Kayes, about 70 miles after they crossed the border.

you can get the visa at the border but I´ll tell you right now, make sure you have a 1000miles worth of gas to get there if you plan to come from Mauritania.

You might be able to get it at the border...but you might not be able to...depends on how good your french/bambara/solinke/jahanke is...
But I know you can get it in Morocco(Rabat), Mauritania(Noachutt), or Senegal(Dakar).
I got mine in Rabat in a matter of two hours but I would arrive in the morning first thing...just in case two hours is not sufficient.
