Visas for west Africa
 

We are travelling west africa in a 4x4 heading south. Hopefully all the way to Southern Africa. Right now in Dakhla, Morocco. Planning on entering Mauretania on Sunday.

We have no visas yet, but a plan for most countries:

Mauretania: At border
Senegal: At border
Gambia: At border
Guinea Bissau: In Ziguinchor, Senegal
Guinea: In Bissau, Guinea Bissau
Ivory coast: In Dakar, Senegal
Ghana: ????
Togo: In Accra, Ghana
Benin: In Accra, Ghana
Nigeria: In Bissau, Guinea Bissau
Cameroon: In Calabar, Nigeria
Gabon: In Lome, Togo
Congo Brazaville: In Lome, Togo
DRC: In Cotonou, Benin
Angola: In Accra, Ghana

Also, as you can see we have no plan for Ghana yet. Do someone know where is the best place to get a visa for Ghana (not Rabat as we are already in southern Morocco)?

Ghana: POSSIBLY in Ouaga, definitely NOT in Abidjan ... try Conakry whilst you're there!

In 2014:
Ghana I got in Burkina Faso, invitation letter was required. I tried in Bamako, Mali but was not allowed.

In 2015:
Earlier information indicated that both Togo and Benin were options for the DRC visa, but both were no-go (or ridiculously expensive/shady) when I passed through. I haven't heard of anyone coming south getting a DRC visa anywhere except Cameroon for some time.
