What do you keep your documents in?
I am starting a year long trip in Western Europe and after that I will be crossing Russia into Japan and Australia. With all the documents (and copies) I have to carry I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for something to keep all my documents in that will allow them to be easily accessible, keep them clean and dry; and, be easy to pack.
Let me know what you use/recommend. Thanks. Michael |
A zip-lock bag.

Ditto. I kept mine in one in the tiny space under the seat and they kept bone dry through two heavy downpours when I had to stop to dry my self off, goretex or not.

1. Keep an additional colour photocopy set of all documents, personal and vehicle (preferably laminated) and present them at roadside police checks. They can then keep them as hostage for payment of fines/bribes and it won't bother you as you ride on to explore further east!
2. Scan the full set of personal and vehicle documents and send to your Email address as an attachment. Then you can print off copies in any Internet cafe if the originals get lost, damaged or stolen. Makes replacement much easier. |
