What happens to Carnet if bike is sold overseas.

If I sell my bike in Nepal, duty paid and have the carnet stamped thus, can I still get the refund that I am due from the RAC back in the UK? (about 700 quid).

Anyone know of such matters?

I believe the theory is that if you pay the duty in the country you have imported the bike too and the Carnet is stamped as cleared you shoud be fine. I would be making sure that you get that confirmed by your Carnet provider though. they may have a hell of a time sorting something out with Nepal at the moment.

Cheers Simmo. I'll look into it.

The situation isn't great here, you're right.

I'll be here a while so no rush (yet).
