Air freight agent for Bike sent to Turkey - advise
We are air freighting 2 motorbikes in March to Turkey from south africa. I have rates and all from South Africa, but they do not have a great option on freight agent in Turkey/istanbul. Can anyone advise on this, and a company that they had good experience with.
The second part is that nobody has a decisive answer on whether a carnet is needed or not. turkey is not an Carnet country , yet the one agent reckons it is a penalty to pay if no carnet is presented. :scooter::scooter: |
No carnet needed for Turkey. I've been there two times, last visit was in Oct 2023. It shouldn't make a difference in regards to nationality.
BUT: Upon entry the vehicle is noted in your passport. So that might be the reason why the freight forwarder believes that a carnet is necessary. |
Turkish Airlines flies widebodies directly between Istanbul and Johannesburg or Cape Town.
