air freight to Buenos Aires vs. Santiago
Looking for advice... Assuming the air freight charges are similar, does anyone know of advantages/disadvantages of receiving a bike in Buenos Aires vs. Santiago? (customs hassle, paperwork, fees, etc). Also, does anyone have insight on whether it is best to start a Patagonia trip headed south from Santiago and coming back north via Argentina, or leaving south from BA and coming back north via Chile? Logically thinking there would be no difference, but then again I've never been there. I'll be arriving to either BA or Santiago in late December. thanks ------------------ Steven 2001 KLR650 Cozumel, Mexico |
1.Chile doesnt have import tax, and is a wealthier happier country these days than Argentina. The one experience I know of shipping into Chile was a very good one.
2.The west, mainly Chilian, side is more demanding, so best do this first maybe. But this would mean maybe missing the HU meeting in Viedma. Sotake a choice. These are the only factors I can think of. |
