Anyone with recent experience of shipping a sidecar rig from North America to Europe?
 

Hi,

We are planning to ship our Ural sidecar rig from North America (either USA or Canada works for us) to Europe early in the New Year.

Does anyone have recent experience of doing this and if so, could you share your shipping method/costs/experiences with us.

ps. Has anyone investigated the possibility of shipping a bike or sidecar rig as 'accompanied baggage' on a transatlantic cruise liner? Prices for transatlantic cruises are pretty attractive during shoulder season, when cruise operators relocate their ships to new, seasonal bases eg. Mediterranean to the Southern USA/Caribbean and vice versa.

I met up with him and his wife at the 2012 European Sidecar Rally in Luxembourg. They shipped their rig over by sea.
