Approx size of crate
Can anyone give me the approx size of a crate for a BMW F650 GS Dakar. I would rather keep the front wheel ON! Does unscrewing the handle bars make a big difference? Will not drain front brakes!
Many Thanks Andrew |
I packed my ktm950 in 200x120x80cm It could have been a lot smaller but this was 'easy' with just the front wheel out and bar +boxes off.
leaving the wheel in will cost a lot more becouse it will be a lot higher. |
Dimensions for a Dakas are approx 2200 in len 910 in width 1490 in height.
Depending on the way you are going to freight/ship I would consider you drop the from wheel out as sometimes you dont just pay on gross weight but volumme weight as well, whichever is greater in most cases. |

size matters!!
I have crated my F650GS in a crate aprrox
1,9 m x 0,8 m x 1,2 m (removed front wheel, handlebars, windscreen) this is about the smallest you can get without too much hassle, spend half summer messuring and trying happy travels |
Removing handlebars
When we crated from australia we undid the handlebars but did not remove them as this would involve draining the brake fluid. Am I correct or am I missing something?
