Bike container Ireland to Vladivostok and back 2014

Anyone interested in shipping their bike to or from Vladivostok next year 2014???

We are shipping a container from Ireland to Vladivostok to start a trip mid July 2014, we plan to store the container in Vlad for 2 months before returning so anyone wishing to ride to Vlad and ship home can do so, or anyone that would like to ship out and ride home.
Another possibility as the container will be there for 2 months is to do a round trip and ship both ways, maybe you could do the road of bones or round Baikal or even pop into Mongolia.
The cost for shipping we calculate at €500/£420 each way with a bit of a discount if you want to ship both ways, this compared to what it cost Kev and myseIf to ship to Magadan last year @ around €2000 one way is a very reasonable way of getting there! (although Magadan is a bugger to ship to)
We are just putting out the feelers at the moment to see how much interest we get, we have already 5 bikes on it so should have space for another 5 maybe more depending on how we pack / rack it.
We will be buying the container and kitting it out with the hooks and rails etc.
If you are interested contact myself mark@bamriders.com or Kev siberia2014@outlook.com

hi mark
next summer july/august 2014 we will drive to magadan. we will start in ulaan bator and further to irkutsk, bam and cross the old summer road.
then we have to bring out of russia (magadan) by ship. But at this moment we don't have really serious contact with a ship company. only this…
Vladivostok - Vostochny - Magadan Line

if the 2 bikes are in vlad we could load on your container.
what do you think about this way? i have seen your page "bamriders" and get many helpful infos. thanks for your experience.

hallo Lars and Ralph, I am Swiss as well, from Fribourg and sending my bike with these guys to Vladivostok.

How long will you be traveling there? What route are you doing?

I am planing a 4 weeks trip with another rider from Germany, we want to ride the western BAM and, if possible the Old Summer road.

Then I still don't know, either sell my bike in Magadan if I find somebody interested, or bring it back to Vladivostok and ship it back to ireland, or if I have the time, ride it to Ulan Bator and leave it there for 1 year.

Will you need to ship the bikes from Magadan to Vladivostok as well?

Please keep us posted - four bikes will be arriving in Vladivostok about October next year. We had planned to get them on the train for the return journey but a container would be good.
Cheers

Hi Zimi
in juni/ august we are going to travel about 6 weeks in this part of russia. the exact route we are planing. sure ulaan bator, irkutsk, severobaikalsk, yakutsk, old summer road magadan and maybe further in the direction of northeast.
the back transport from magadan isn`t clear but at this moment we check some possibilities with local friends. maybe by container ship, aircraft to moskau and drive back or another way by bike to vlad.
you will travel in october? where you will starting - fribourg? how much time you will have for the whole travel?

Hej Lars,

I will team up with Zimi in the Baikal area in early July 2014.

For transport from Magadan to Vladivostok you should get in contact with
Yuri Melnikow (Links Ltd.), well known on the HUBB. As I used his service
last year, I can highly recommend him.

I would also like to send my bike by plane to moscow, but have not checked yet if this could work.

best regards

Uwe

Hi Lars
Four of us will leave England 29 June next year and ride Holland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Mongolia, back into Russia and up the west side of Biakal, BAM to Tynda and then we make a decision whether to continue on BAM or drop down to Vladivostok. The time schedule is approximately four months. We will probably put the bikes on the train to Moscow and ride from there back to England. Hope to see some of you on the road.
Cheers
Paul

Some of you in this thread are discussing shipping from Magadan to Vladivostok and also Europe to Mongolia. Post number 19 at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...e-trip-57891-2 might be of interest. The German agent I refer to is Pan Europa.

Also to magadan_2014: Be aware that if Pan Europa say you need to get an ATA Carnet, you can't get it for a vehicle with a numberplate...

Hi Lars,

we might see each other at some point. It depends on the timing. I will start in Vladivostok around 21st of July (needs to be confirmed by Mark). Then I will team up with Uwe in Irkustk and do the same route as you :Kirensk-Lensk-Yakutsk-old summer road-magadan.

If we get to Magadan, there will be 3 options for me, depending as well on how much time I have left.

1) Sell my KTM 640 Adv in Magadan
2) Ship it to Vladivostok and crate it and send it back with Mark and the other guys.
3) Drive it all the way back to Ulan Bator following the same route as yours and store it there at the Oasis (I believe it's possible) for 1 year.

We should keep in touch, when do you plan to start?

PS: initially I planned to do it in 2013 with Pan European, but had to cancel it because of work.

Hi guys,

I'm riding from Ireland to Magadan over the summer, I aim to get to Vlad sometime in September. If the container will still be there in September I'd love to jump on it if there's space!
