Cheap ferry to Calais with Motorcycle?
Hi guys,
Anyone got any good prices for Dover to Calais Ferry. Plan to leave 2nd to 3rd week of July, after the HU Meet. So far the price seems around £80, on the web, which i think is way to high. Might do a quick run around Ireland in June for a month, if i can find a cheap ferry over there too. Cheers Dalbir |
Dalbir,
Most of the bike magazines in the UK have some sort of deal with P&O Ferries and offer a 30% discount if you quote the name of the magazine. I've used this service in the past and have got a cross channel return ticket for as little as £35, but I think it's probably more like £60 these days. Call P&O on 08705 202020 quoting reference 9632 (Motorcycle News www.mcnshop.com) and see what price they give you. P&O also run Liverpool to Dublin, but I have no idea how much it costs. Thanks Harvey,
Well i just found a reasonable price for Calais crossing, on P&O website. £37.40 for single as long as u travel from 9pm to 6am. Now just to find a reasonable fare for the irish sea crossing. Why are ferry companies such a rip off? |
Dalbir
in 1999 irish ferries from holyhead to port of dublin (dun l... something or other) used to do motorbikes and one passenger for the price of of one foot-passenger. not sure whether this is still the case today. HTH ChrisB PS. somewhere you said you were coming to HUUK in Derbyshire in July. Haven't received your registration yet http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif |
