Has anyone cleared their bike from Port Klang, nr KL in Malaysia before?

Do you have any good tips for smoothing the process including where to go, what to expect to pay, timescales etc?

I did this 5 years ago + it was a real nightmare.The officals did not nothing to support you, they were polite but that's it.All the process was ****ing expensive. A local guy wo was someway involved in the freight business helped me; without his help the bike would still be in the harbour. His name is Haris Ismael, must be around 25. Don't know how to contact him:blushing:

India to Malaysia Shipping

My bike arrives at the port on 24 May, I guess I have the option of trying to clear it myself or use an agent which I'm told could be 500-1000RM. I'd rather do it myself but am still trying to find out the proceedure to do this.

Also, anyone currently riding in Malaysia and heading to Thailand?
