Wow! Learn things everyday--literally--from this forum. You guys are talking about MOT, SORN and other terms with which I am totally unfamiliar. If we ship our U.S. registered bike from SA, hopefully Georgetown, Guyana, to the UK, besides registration, green card, title, and properly licensed, planning on being there for only three weeks, what else do we need?

MOT is a safety check which all UK registered vehicles have to pass every year when they are over 3 years old. Without an MOT it is not possible to buy Road Tax. If we don't buy a road tax for any reason we have to declare the vehicle is not being used on the road (Statutory Off Road Notification) None of these issues affect the owner of a foreign vehicle on our roads.
