Colombia to Panama 2016 State of the Art
Hey gang.
I'm headed back north after a lovely season riding a KLR650 from NYC all the way down south, and now heading back — currently in Bogotá. Unfortunately, it seems as though the port authorities in Cartagena have changed their attitude, and no longer allow motorcycles to be loaded onto backpacker boats. I'm looking into pricing for a cargo flight from Bogotá to Panama city, (with lyncargo, and abccargolog) and the first quotes are coming in around $1,300. If anyone has solid leads on a recommended shipping company to contact, or the best way to approach this, I'd be grateful. I don't mind riding down to the coast for a RORO, or hanging out up here a bit longer, but time is a little bit of the essence. Cheers, Jeremy (Cross posted on advrider, so feel free to ignore one if you read both ;) |

Check out Stahlratte. It's a sailing ship from Germany...
With bike it's like $1150 - 3 days... Cheaper and you see some of the Caribbean ocean as well... To make a reservation you have to pay $200 in advance (that's what I did to have an option)... stahlratte segeln shuttle panama kolumbien cartagena panama san blas cuba jamaika Going north always seems to be easier... They ship monthly till November... And shipping date is flexible as long as they have space... So far I am also booked for July... But probably will not make it - depends also if I can get my bike sold or not... Greetings |
