Crate Dimensions for DL650/1000
 

Hey all, i've been scouring the web for this info and have found nothing.


would like to know the dimensions of a shipping crate for a vstrom--650 or 1000.


trying to get an estimate for shipping and obviously need to provide volumetric weight. yes, i can guesstimate, but budget for this trip is gonna be tight so need to be as close as possible.

This is the info I got from the companies who have shipped my DL650

Weight. 400kgs. Volume. 3.61 M3. Another company listed it at 348kgs, and as for actual packaging with the mirrors and screen off and no top case it fits into the latest BMW cardboard bodied crates OK. These are easier to dismantle so long as you carry a pair of cutters for the metal banding they use.
