Crate exchange in London?
I'm debating whether to have my bike professionally crated for sea transport from Australia to London, or crate it myself by modifying a used crate sourced from a bike shop.
If I decide to get a crate built, I'd possibly be interested in recovering part of the cost by onselling to someone on my arrival in London. I expect the bike to get there mid-May. The bike is a Cagiva Elefant but any bike of similar/smaller size would fit the box. If anyone's interested in this proposal please let me know. Waz. |
I just shipped a bike in a Honda St 1100 crate. It has a metal frame and originally had cardboard sides. I used self tapping screws to put plywood all around it and it was a very sturdy crate that could take any bike. It has a cradle for the back wheel and a special stand to put your front axel through.
I got it for free from a Honda dealer |
