Ferries for Singapore through Indonesia and on to Darwin -
Hello,
Does anyone have any advice or recommendations regarding the possibility to drive from Singapore through Indonesia to end up shipping from Timor Leste to Darwin? What ferries take self-drive vehicles/ Any reources I can use to research the options? Thanks in advance! |
Getting a foreign-plated vehicle into Singapore is a massive headache and entirely not worth it. Leave your bike in Malaysia and go see Singapore on foot/by public transport, then take a ferry from Malaysia to Indonesia.

Read above mentioned advise about Singapore on a foreign plated vehicle as it is totally correct - its not worth it.
But if you still want to do it I have read that there is some kind og ferry/barge from S’pore to Batam island and from there another ferry to somewhere on Sumatra. Other than that you can get a bike/car on a roroferry from Port Klang to Kuching but you have to fly yourself or if youre on a bike there are passenger ferries from Port Klang to Tanjung Balai. Ferries between the Indonesian islands are plentiful, at least most places and you should not worry about that. From Dili - East Timor to Darwin you have to ship in a container. |
