Greece or Turkey - Air Freight to Sudan

Hi All,

Im looking at air freighting (sea at last resort but any info good) my bike from either Greece or Turkey to Sudan later this year. I want to avoid Egypt as there is too much hassle getting in/out and expense of carnet to cover that country.

Has anyone had experience of going this route and have any contacts ie agents that can help/quote.

Open to other ideas or route, just want to avoid Egypt and Libya.

Thanks for your help.

Germany to Khartoum/Sudan - Airfreight

Hi,

we also will send our bike to Khartoum/Sudan by Airfreight in November and heading down to the cape.

We will use a shipping company here in germany to do all the paperwork. We have no experience with aircargo yet, but we will update when we will have more infos.

Its possible to send your crated bike to every destination from İstanbul Atatürk airport cargo or Ambarlı seaport cargo..Approximate dimensions and weight needed..Carpenter to make the crate available close to our club not far from the airport..

Crating and paperwork takes 3 days, then you can leave the country with B/L,passport with exit stamp and warehouse/cargo number in your hands to track all steps online..Delivery is being realised within2-3 days according to the width of the crate and door of the cargo plane that will take off on following days..

Turkish airlines cargo has a direct flight to Khartoum from istanbul..
Here is the link.
Turkish Cargo

TIP...: Whereever you airfreight is, bike must be oil and gas free, all tyres reduced, battery disconnected (sometimes not accepted inside the crate and protection box needed ) so as not to be charged as dangerous good.

Hope helps.

All the best.

Situation on air freight?

Just to warm this thread a bit up.

Since the situation of getting into Egypt is apparently a major pain again i am looking into alternatives of how to get to Africa.

I am right now looking into air freighting two bikes from Turkey (or other Airport in south Europe) to Sudan. I already wrote to some companies including Turkish Cargo. But, since it is Sunday i got now reply so far.

Does anyone has recent experience with this shipping? I wonder if the process of getting the bikes out of the airport and street legal in Khartoum is a big issue?
