Has anyone shipped into the Philippines??
Hi guys/gals, just wondering if any of you have shipped a bike into the Philippines. I'm in Seoul now and considering heading that way. Japan is still my most-likely next destination, but the P.I. will work too. I heard about 2 German's who tried to get in in 2003 but were refused entry (with their bikes). I've been searching the web with no luck- after checking the shipping pages here of course! Any information will be appreciated. Hook.

Hi Hook,
Anything come of this? I'd be interested in more info on getting in on my own bike. Thanks. Trevor |
I am interested to know as well. I am currently working in Makati (expat) and would love to ship my bike from TX here for a few months.

Me too
I'm on a RTW attempt, started in Belgrade, on my Vespa P200E. I've made it as far as Pontianak, Kalimantan, and starting tomorrow I'm going to go around the north side of Borneo to Sandakan, where a ferry allegedly runs to Zamboanga twice a week. I called the ferry operator and they said that, yes, motorbikes are allowed on board.
I have no idea what to expect once I reach Zamboaga, though. Anything from the bike being impounded, to me being let off the hook by paying some customs guy a $200 'import bond', or anything in between. I do know they don't recognize the Carnet de Passages en Douane, though. I'm also very concerned about getting my bike out of the Philippines. Anybody know of any good air freight agencies out of Manila? |
