INDIA TO THAILAND
hello
i read on the hubb about shipping it looks easier and cheaper to send a bike from india to thailand from delhi than from calcutta to bangkok any different ideas or experiences ? (i don t go to nepal nor bangladesh inbetween) THANX HAPPY TRAILS |
Hi Vincent,
I would strongly recommend that you ship from Dhaka to Bangkok. Look in the shipping section on HUBB. I did the same thing one year ago. The whole process will take about one week, is relatively cheap, and low stress, and you don't have to crate the bike. Visa for Bangladesh readily available in New Delhi. Clearing bike in Bangkok can be done in three hours relatively cheaply. Why this way? I've read horror stories about Indian bureaucracy. Try to avoid it like the plague. Adventure travel need not be sweat and tears, if it can be avoided. |
Hi
If you ship the bike uncrated, make very sure about the charges as a friend of mine got an unexpectedly large bill when they charged him for volume and not weight. We shipped from Kathmandu to Bangkok no problems and good service. ------------------ Sean |
Do consider going to Nepal and freighting your bike from Kathmandu to Bangkok.
You will find it all so much easier from there and Nepal is great on a bike. |
thanx for your replies
apparently the easiest would be to go to nepal and ship it to thailand (this is the most "experienced" route) and not so expensive. otherwise, from bangladesh is an idea too, i m not sure i want to go there. i ll keep informed thanx happy trails http://vincent.danna.free.fr/ |
