Just used Girag to go from Panama to Bogota
All went very very well... just rolled up to Tocumen airport in panama...they took the bike right away...clearing customs was easy....and was on the road two hours after landing in Bogota...
If anyone is around in colombia give me a shout! :-) thanks Oisin backtobroke.blogspot.com |
how much
are they charging these days /?
|
Me to, what was the cost, did you have to crate the bike, or was it strapped to a pallet?
I have heard bikes from the ports os Panama to Cartegena are being confiscated in ColOmbia, so I would like to know a backup solution for a few weeks time, I am in Honduras atm. Cheers TravellingStrom |
total was 901 dollars US
No crating involved...just roll up with the bike....and thats it...all you have to do is push in the mirrors...
so easy its unreal! |
Hi and thanks for the reply, was that $901 for both you and the bike?
Cheers TS |
Don't forget to post that in the Shipping database - "Shipping the bike" link on left! Then all the questions are answered easily... and with info on other shipments and alternatives too.
thanks! Grant |
same as travellingstrom
HI Omhughes,
That $901 green ones was for only the bike?, or also yourself?, Did they accepted debit or credit cards or it has to be cash?... If you have time would be really nice to have it on shippments database as Grant says. Cheers! Gus-Strom |
At Girag office right now..
No need to book, no need to crate. Just show up with your bike. I had to take my windscreen and mirrors off and they want you to arrive with as empty a tank as possible.
Price is 901.38$ - Everybody says that you HAVE to bring cash. I could not get 900$ out of the ATM and told them that I would pay when I picked the bike up in Bogoto, since they dont accept creditcards. First they said that it was impossible, but I insisted and they finally agreed for a 3% "pay upon collection" sursharge, which was 27$. They are super nice at the office and I am using their computer as I type, waiting for Airbill to be produced so I can go to the customs. They are very busy today, so it has taken them 2 hours so far. But, free snacks, juice and internet is keeping me going. Talk to Xenia Jurado at the office or her assistant. They both speak english pretty well. Good luck! Patrick |
