Korea to South/ Middle America
Hi I'm in Korea at the moment (I came all the way through Russia from Germany)
Now im thinking about where to go. I would like to go somewhere to South America or Mexico. Does anybody have some informations about a cheap way to get my bike there? Thanks ------------------ email: petze @web.de |
Welcome to the Hub!
Very few people go to Korea, so I can't give you any specific advice. Start calling shipping agents and ask for quotes... I would like to know how you got into S. Korea with the bike. We can't get in with our own bikes from Japan. Cars are OK, not bikes. There is a ferry from Busan(?) to Japan I think you can use if you have a carnet. |
I believe Marco is also currently in S. Korea and one of his possible destinations from there is S. America, so he may have some info on transport that would be of help to you. His website (in German) is www.schnueriger.net.
You could run a search on HUBB for "madmarco" to see his posts. Korean Air will fly motorcycles in their wide bodied aircraft, but I don't know if they fly to Central or S. America, and I doubt if it's cheap. You could find their routes on their website. Could you tell us about crossing Siberia? I plan to do that from east to west next summer. Mike Idaho |

What informations do you need about Siberia? You can find some general informations here: www.waytorussia.net You can find some pictures and my story here (in German): www.schweizer-ing.com -> patrick Feel free to ask. Russia s great. |
<<What informations do you need about Siberia?>>
Anything that you think would be helpful for a motorcycle traveler doing that route for the first time. Any problems or difficulties you had, how were the road surfaces, the availability of food and lodging, etc. etc. And, especially, how was the weather at the time of year you did the route (did you just finish it and ride most of it in October? Was it cold?) Anything of that sort would be much appreciated. It might be a more appropriate thread for the Asia forum, or feel free to email me if you wish. Thanks.
