Motorcycle from Finland/st. Petersburg to Kyrgyzstan or Kazakhstan?
 

Anyone have any ideas how to get a bike from Finland to near Pamir highway? I'm planning to get there in early September 2019 but riding both ways through Russia is out of the question.

1) There seems to be a standard service of the Russian Railways for transporting bikes on car-carrier trains, including a route from St Petersburg to Astrakhan, very close to the Kazakhstan border: Новости | Пассажирам

2) Try a Russian freight portal. Quick google shows me https://dostavkin.com/ has options for transporting motorcycles, and Dushanbe as one of the destinations. I'm sure there are trucks going between St Petersburg and the Stans - especially in August, trucks bringing in produce should be heading back fairly empty.
