North Sumatra to Malaysia
Hi there,
I'm travelling from Sydney to Brussels with a 110cc motorbike, and I'm a bit confused about what I read about this ferry route... 1st question, is there an official ferry between medang and Malaysia ( for myself and my moped) ?? Second question is there a custom house and an official border at the port of arrival in Malaysia ? I need to stamp my carnet de passage and my passport. Any fresh infos will be really appreciated :-) Cheers from Java, Nick |
Search a bit on the HUBB there is a lot, Charka Shiping, Mr. Lim etc..
e.g: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...onesia-32605-4 etc... |
Thanks. I'll do it with charka shipping. Departure every Tuesday night in Medan. You need to drop the bike Monday morning, and it's strictly not a passenger boat, you need to book a flight to Penang.

At least in February 2008, there was also a ´fast boat´, a passenger boat that went between Penang to Belawan. Dunno, if such service still operates, everything changes quickly around there. The flights would´ve been to/from to Medan, some way from Belawan.
BTW the name of the famous onion boat cargo company in Penang should probably be Cakra Shipping (..or Cakra Enterprise?) |
