Panama TO LA or Vancouver
 

Trying to determine shipping costs, was quoted a total of 1717$ air from Panama city to Vancouver+550 for my ticket, or about 1500$ to LAX+350 for my ticket. Worried about paperwork in LA, but the cost is slightly closer to affordable. One of the issues is that my bike, although wonderful isn't worth that much money. I would be happy shipping a slow route to Vancouver, I don't care if it takes a couple months even.

Then in that case you should be spending some serious time investigating the various ocean shipping companies or international movers which must be available in Panama city . Find some which offer to consolidate loads into an ocean shipping container to your desired destination,Vancouver or some northwest US port.. Maybe they can slip it into a container with somebody else's stuff who is moving north and you can get a shared cost rate for the space your bike would use. Should be a lot less than airfreight.
