Phuket to Calcutta/Kathmandu
 

Hi,

Anybody experience with sea shipping from Phuket/Krabi to Calcutta/Kathmandu? I'm trying to find an alternative for airfreight Bangkok-Kathmandu. Or Kuala Lumpur to Calcutta??

1. My wife (Thai) tells me that Bkk is the only intl. port in Thailand.
2. Often repeated, I wouldn't ship anything into India, if at all possible (corruption & bureaucracy).
3. Customs in Bkk are corrupt, but the airport is OK.
4. I don't know how you could ship anything by sea to Kathmandu?

If you absolutely want to ship I suggest you try KL to Bangladesh.
