Proposal to share a container between France and Argentina in April 2007
Hello,
I am Simon; I live in France and work in Grenoble close to Alps Mountains. I am about to prepare a globe-trotting with two friends and as you can imagine, this trip will be fulfilled thanks to 3 wonderful motorcycles. I know it can make some people laugh but in regards with the different axis of our project (a globe-trotting with humanitarian missions) we chose 3 125cc motorcycles and it comes to be the lean way of transportation. Actually, we will ship our riding engines by sea from Rouen or Le Havre (France) to Buenos Aires (Argentina). After several request for quotations to several forwarders, it appears cheaper to pay for an entire container: approximately 1500€ (CFR le Havre Buenos Aires) / No need to crate the motorcycles à the forwarder is also in charge of chocking them in the container. As we only occupy a bit more than the half of the container, we are looking for a co-buyer who will be interested in this destination at this period (April – May 2007). So please let me know. Bye. Hi Simon:
Check first which company you will use and who will receive the container here. For Example Grimaldi is really cheap but arrive to the worst terminal at the port in Buenos Aires. Some times is better pay a a few more and have less problems. Also check the documents you need ,You need one B/L for each bike and rider. (One bike ,one BL). The custom here ask for that to make the temporary imports. And Also if there is any problem with the papers of one bike you can take out the rest. If you have only one B/L for all the container and there is any problem all the bikes will be stop. Hope this helps Sandra www.dakarmotos.com |
Hi Simon
I live as well in the Alps, in Annecy exactly, and I'm interested to send my motorbike to Buenos Aires. How much will it cost me if I share the container with you guys ? Do I have to ship the motorbike by myslef to Le Havre or is it possible to share as well the shipping from Grenoble to Le Havre ? Regards Nicolas |
