BA to Texas

Hi elwood.
We might be interested is such an option. We are in Colombia at the moment. Plans are indefinite, but are heading that way. Somewhat later than April 1 would probably work better for us. We have two motos.

I'll be in BA by end of this month and would like to ship bike, klr, back as well. Looks like you have a few people interested, please let me know what I need to do or how I can help in getting this deal going. Details appreciated!

Hi
If late April I could do it from Uruguay or Brazil also. Where best deal and least hassle? Any idea on costs?

you ready for this!

$13,295 us is the first quote i got back. and that doesn't include some fees in Texas. That was for 6 bikes in a 20ft container from Buenas Aires to Houston.

What are people willing to spend?

Yowtch!

I can do RORO to Europe for about $1500 for me + bike from BA, have a great adventure and have my bike ready to go on another continent for about $1500....sorry but I won't spend more than that to go "home". :(

I really appreciate your looking into this E...if you come up with something else, please let me know!!!

what is roro

yo elwood! what up mate? you still making fast time through chile? i'm sure you are... i can see you there, riding your black and blue newbie klr, chillen like a vill'n, making more miles alone than you ever could have teaming up.

okay, seriously though, you are moving so freaking fast, it was simply rad hanging out in the vip seats, and worth every centavo. so, 15000 bucks for a container is crazy, but 6 bikes in a containter for less than that would be nice. what is motobikergirl talking about RORO and herself for so cheap? what is the crack there man?

RORO is what scooby says when hes in trouble, or its a roll on roll off boat. I am making Miles now 450 3 days ago 541 yesterday 441 today! Ive got Wings! I think best option is to sell the bike in Uruguay. or Push it into the Atlantic (after i drain the oil) what rock are you up?

I don't know who that was with. I was talking to MArie and Brian, who I met in Colombia, and that's what they said it cost them fro BA to somewhere in Europe.

Their site is 2uprtw - Latest Journal Entries and you may be able to find it on there or contact them directly.

EDIT: I just found this. http://www.grimaldi-freightercruises...icaEnglish.pdf

richiefinger 26 Mar 2010 16:29

Yeah thanks.
I found grimaldi through another post.
That looks very interesting

greenthumb 27 Mar 2010 14:54

I emailed Dakar Motors in Buenos Aries for a quote from BA to Vancouver via air and it was cheaper than expected and quite reasonable, I think. Word is they are THE people to talk to for shipment and arrange it frequently.

markharf 27 Mar 2010 15:56

Yup. Sandra at Dakar Motors. She'll tell you how to do it for free or accompany you to the airport, shepherd you around, translate and do all the rest for a fee. Nice folks. Website can be found by Google.
