Sharing a container Vladivostok to Seattle/Vancouver
Hi everyone,
we are shipping two bikes with an oversea container from Vladivostok to Seattle/Vancouver (destination can be agreed on). Plan is to start the shipping end of July. As we can store the bikes in Vladivostok for 60$ per bike and month we can wait until October or November to start. The price for the container is 6000$, customs clearance is 250$ per bike. Is there anyone planning a similar shipment in this timeframe who likes to share the costs with us? Greetings Claus |
Vladivostok to west USA/Canada July 2014
Hi
I'm trying to find some space in a container to ship my XT from Vladivostok to either Vancouver or Seattle at the end of July 2014. My Russian Visa covers me until 30th of July 2014. I've been quoted similar rates from Yuri in Vladivostok. Do you have space in the container still to split costs? Paul |
Hi Paul,
yes we do. When are you planning to be in Vladivostok? Which way are you going? Greetings Claus |
Sorry for delay
Hi
Sorry for the delay. I'm on the road with intermittent internet. My Russian visa expires on 30th July. I need to go from Vladivostok to Vancouver around about that date. The fixer in Vladivostok says there is a container leaving around the 8th of Aug that should have space on it but I want to keep options open. Are you going from Vladivostok to Vancouver too? Paul |
Yes we do, but we have to ship the bikes from Magadan to Vladivostok first.
You also use Yuri for the transport. We plan to arrive in Magadan 16th of July, so if everything will work the 8th should be fine. We have to other guys who would like to share the container, but they are not yet sure when they will arrive. And a group of 4 that would like to ship in November. As we go on with our trip next year we are relativly open with the date. Do you plan to be in Ulanbataar and if so, when? |
Hey Claus,
Count me in for the shipping to Canada as well as from Magadan to Vladivostok also. Cheers! |
I will check with Yuri
That all sounds great. It sounds like you're already in touch with Yuri. Is it simpler for us to meet all go through his facilities?
I'll email him now to see what's what. Paul - Yamaha XT 600 |
Hi Paul,
yes we are and he is going to organize the transport for us (2 bikes) and mudfrog from Magadan to Vladivostok and from Vladivostok to Vancouver. There is another guy from switzerland who also wants to hop on. So we would have 4 bikes from Magadan to Vladivostok and 5 bikes from Vladivostok to Vancouver. Yuri accepts money transfer... You will only take Vladivostok to Vancouver, right? Can I follow up with your trip somewhere? |
Open to destination
Hiya
My blog is here: Travel Blog | headwall I don't have to go to Vancouver, but I picked that because it seems to be the path of least resistance. Seattle would also work I guess. Yuri has been out of the office for a few days but I'm hoping to hear from him any time now. I'm staying at a bike workshop in Timisoara, Romania for a day or so - internet here is good and they are sourcing some tyres and bits for me. Bulgaria next and then Turkey and Russia. Let me know if you hear from Yuri. Paul |
