Shipping bike by air from Colombia to Panama (april 2017)
In March / April 2017 I have to send my bike (Honda Gold Wing 1500, now has 915,000 kilometers) from Italy to South America and at the beginning of June 2017 I have to return it from Alaska to Italy.
I planned to take the America, from the extreme south to north (Tierra del Fuego - Alaska). Starting the beginning of April (or the end of March), return the end of May (or early June). Two months, about 25,000 km. The key points are. 1) The costs are not the main problem. My primary need are the times (faster), and the least possible complications. Obviously, if I have to choose between a budget of € 1,000 and a € 5.000, I am willing to endure some "discomfort" or delay. This is because my journey is, as mentioned before, a quick trip, where the priority is the respect of the times. Also I do not want to be without motorcycle too long before (is my only means of transport), nor too after (I have other appointments on a motorcycle in Italy in the second half of June). 2) The interruption of the road between Colombia and Panama will overcome with the airplane. I know that air travel, especially for a heavy and large motorcycles (and little "compressible") like mine, are expensive. I also know that there can be many differences (in the My World Tour, 4 flights, the differences were remarkable). But, as I wrote at the beginning, at this stage interest me more time and mode (from where to where) that the exact cost. In summary, now I ask you advice on the delivery of the bike from Colombia (Medellin or Bogotà) to Panamà with airplane. Thank you |

But many of those details were not updated and so I preferred to open this topic. However the link (the first) was very helpful: Yesterday I wrote to Veronica Mosquera (the Lyncargo) and she was fast, efficient, complete and very courteous and patient. She gave me all the information required and I have decided that I will send to them. Cost $ 1290 (+50 about to Panama), without the need to crate, flights every day (except Sunday); good price, since my bike is a Gold Wing heavy half ton. I advise. I will report my assessment after I return from America (June 2017). Now I lack only the shipper to Italy from Alaska (I talked about this issue in another topic). |

Shipping a Motorcycle from Colombia to US
I'm in Bogota right now arranging shipping for the end of this month. Like many others, I've contacted and will ship with Veronica Mosquera. Her organization is no longer Lyn Cargo she's now with CargoRider. Contact information follows:
CargoRider Veronica Mosquera Gerente Comercial comerical@cargorider.com.co Cel: 311-223-7841 Tel: 571-482-4943 Cra. 71B No. 52052 of 101 Normandia Sector Home - CARGORIDER Price she quoted to ship my R1200GS from Bogota to Miami was more than $100 less than shipping via RoRo ship to Galveston ($984 Vs $1100). I'm pretty happy! I don't expect any problems with this shipment. If any occur, I'll update this post. |

Email to CargoRider
I have tried twice to email to:
CargoRider, Veronica Mosquera, Gerente Comercial, comerical@cargorider.com.co from here in Medellin, but it was kicked out both times. ??? When I sent it to info@cargorider.com.co instead, it went through. :thumbup1: |
No response from Cargorider?
Hello Motoman,
I am in Medellin at the moment and am looking for a way to ship my bike to Panama. My friends used Cargo rider last year and had good things to say. However I have also been trying to contact them and have not recieved a response back. Have you had any luck getting in touch with them? Chris from British Columbia |

If I don't get word tomorrow, Monday 1 May, I will leave for Cartagena on Tuesday and ship me and my bike on the Stahlratte which will leave for Panama sometime around 11-15 May, according to Ludwig, the captain. Chris, "El Pinche Gringo Loco," from the US, but returning to Costa Rica to live until my next adventure, maybe Australia. |
Give Up on CargoRider
After waiting 6+ days and getting no response, I hereby give up on CargoRider.

Cargo Rider contact
Hi
2 days ago I asked for quotation (it seems that both emails are working now: comercial and info) and got the replay next day from Miss Veronica. The aircargo Bogota->Panama costs 1100USD +40USD (paid in Panama) - for cash payment or 1150+40 if paid by credit card. Ziggy |
