shipping bikes to central asia - and back
 

hi,

just looking at some options for a prolongued two months ride this (late) summer and wondering what it would cost to ship (i suppose fly) two bikes from somewhere in europe to central asia (kaz/uzb/kirg/tadj) and back...

lost my heart there when i rode pamirs three years ago and would love to go back, but don't habe enough time to go overland this year

anyone any experience? or anyone know a very reliable enduro bike rental company in the area? :)

Hi Its too late for this year but how about a bike share next year? you can ride my bike out to Almaty and fly back and we will fly out and drive back, or the other way round. There are 2 of us who want to go out to the Pamir highway but we haven't the time to ride both ways. i will probably have an1150 gs or maybe an f800 gs by next year, my son will have similar. We are trying to do it in 2 weeks which is fairly difficult/imposible but as a one way trip..... if you were to meet us out there you could spend as long as you want going out or coming back.
