Shipping Bikes from Vladivostock to Vancouver
Hi
has somebody experience in shipping motorcycles from Vladi to Vancouver? We are staying in Ulan-Ude now and wanna make it in April or May 2006 and just searching information about. Obviously we need a transport for us, too. May you help us? |
I can't help you with Vladivostok to Vancouver, but if Vladivostok to Seattle would work for you, try emailing STS Logistics North America, located in Bellevue, Washington, pillem@stslogistics.net. Last summer thay did an excellent job arranging shipping of my bike from Seattle to Vladivostok. I believe STS Logistics is a Russian based company with offices world wide. They do have an office in Vladivostok.
As for yourselves, Korean Air flys from Vladivostok to Seattle and Los Angeles - I'm not sure about other west coast cities. Hope this is of some help. Good luck. Mike Idaho www.rtwrider.net |
I dont know if this helps.
But Laura and I (scott) shipped from Vancouver to Tokyo. We then rode across Japan to get the Ferry from Fushiki to Vladivostok. We did have a carnet, so Japan was no dramas. The Vlad-Japan was about 200 with bike approx. And the shipping from Vancouver was about 1000. This was JUNE 2005. If you want more info email me on markbyscott@hotmail.com Ill try and find costs and contacts for you. Isnt Russia grouse. we rode Vlad to Moscow. Pulled our hair out some days and sat in pools of tears other days, but we LOVED IT. |
Thanx for your tips!
We decided to go over South Korea or Japan (Korea seems cheaper). Has anyone experiences with this shipway and can recommend us a companie for shipping and / or tell us from witch city we have to go? Greets from Ulan-Ude, Russia, Alex and Carsten ------------------ |
I'm also looking to ship my bike back to north america by air from japan or vlad. Shipping to europe is so easy, but crossing the pacific seems a bit tougher. I've sent several emails in the last few days, if I find out anything good, I'll post it here.

Hi alex and Carsten
I'm interested in the South Korea route as a back-up also to direct freight from Vlad to Seattle. Can you let me know what you find out re Ferry to korea for example ?? thanks and safe driving ! Kevin |

(Vladi)-Korea-Canada or USA
Today we bought tickets for a ferry from Sarubino (Ru)to Sokcho(Korea), price pro pers.:144US$ in Vladivostok.Tickets for our bikes we have to buy directly in Sarubino. If we know more we will post it.
From Korea we probably go to USA, because it may be cheaper. Does anybody know which port in South-Korea would be best and cheapest for shipping bikes to USA or Canada? Is it possible to ship bikes from Incheon? greets Carsten and Alex |
Hi Ihr zwei!
If you want to ship it by sea, Pusan would probably be your best option. Ask Georg Waibel, he shipped his bike to Germany and as far as I know, he evaluated the different options. If you want to fly your bikes, you will have to do it from Seoul. Contact Ralf Mueller from Schenker - he was the head of Schenker Freiburg by the time we left and helped very enthusiastically when I shipped it with them. I posted the details in the shipment section (Seoul->Bangkok) Viel Spass in Korea! Lars |
thanx and new plannings
hi lars!
thanx for fast reply! we read your posting already - now we are on the way to shuffle our plans completly again :-)) we think about getting to australia for working (budget shrinks...) but untill now we just don't know if over thailand, singapur or directly from south korea. just have to search many informations about costs and possibilities for getting there. from sinus in vladi we already know about 1000 USD freight from australia to vladi and about 1200 USD the flight for person. but we will go first to south korea (we have the tickets already) and than...? thanks and stay healthy! greets from vladi, alex & carsten www.motorradreise.de.tc |
