shipping bikes to Vladivostok or South Korea
 

Hi
My partner and I will start our trip from Vladivostok in May 2020. We will be riding DR6950's and be on the road for approx. one year.
We will be shipping the bikes from New Zealand and meet up with them after we have visited China.
Is it better to ship the bikes directly to Vladivostock or as it seems popular to ship them to Incheon in South Korea and take the Ferry to Vladivostok?
We would appreciate any experiences from people that have shipped to either place recently.

Hi,

You can do both, we can provide support for both options, but Vladivostok would be more logical place to start.
Only issue is getting the coverage when you get to Vlad is that you need to go to the city to get insurance as there is no option anymore to buy one at the border. Very often that means that you need a translator for the docs that you will give to the insurance company (crazy but until we create a product for the Russian market that everyone is asking for, it's how it is).

hi there - I am having trouble finding shipping from Australia to Vladivostok as well... I will looking to get my bike there in May, but then sending it further, up to Magadan to start my trip. have you found out any more information about who to ship with?
A year would be AWESOME! :-)

as far as I know there is no reliable option to send a bike to Vladivostok, but to South Korea it is no Problem at all.
As per Yuri of Links in Vladivosatok there is no Transport way to Magadan
