Shipping from Panama to USA
Hi there,
I'm planning a trip from NYC to Panama and I was wondering if anybody has any information on shipping the bike back to the States. Either by air or ship, companies, costs etc. Much appreciated, Vinny |
Hi Vinny,
Can't give specifics at this point, but you shouldn't have a lot of trouble shipping the bike out. I would strongly recommend by air, sea is a lot less reliable in this part of the world. Expect about US$500-800 depending on how much of the paperwork you deal with yourself and how good a deal you can get. Note that the US carriers generally won't fly a bike anymore, so you'll end up with a local air-freight company. I believe Challenge Air, based in Bogota, flies to Panama and definitely USA. They are very good and don't require a crate, just load the bike on a pallet. Mr. Alejandro Buitrago S. (speaks perfect English, very helpful) Director Sistema Challenge Air Cargo, Inc.
